Choosing a contractor to assist you with environmental health issues may help you to resolve difficult or continuous problems. Obtaining professional and qualified contractors is easier in some areas than others. Below is a list of non-profit sources of information on hiring the right contractor or lists of contractors in your area.



Lead Service Providers:
The US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) provides a national listing by state of lead service providers called the Lead Listing.

The internet open directory project, dmoz, is edited by web readers and has lists of contractors and remediators based on specific environmental issues.

Mold and Asbestos Contractors:
The Environmental Network Website offers lists of submitted contractor names by state.

EPA and some state offer lists of certified lead-based firms and lead training providers for certifications.
